SEED is free to the general public. Last year, approximately 2500 people attended this annual event. This one day event allows visitors to take a self-guided, hands-on tour through a variety of motivating science and math activity stations presented by over 100 individuals and organizations from across the CSRA’s science and mathematics community.

SEED will feature computers, telescopes, student engineering, live animals, robotics, papermaking, meteorology and numerous other hands-on science and mathematics activities. Participants will learn about careers and applications that involve science and mathematics in a captivating way.  There will also be special exhibits highlighting this year’s theme of “Science ROCKS!”.  The event is geared to students in the fourth through eighth grade, but all ages are welcome.

The event involves not only students but also parents, teachers, scientists, engineers, medical personnel and other science and math related professionals. SEED is a cooperative effort among Aiken County Public Schools, the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center and USC Aiken to provide stimulating and relevant science and math experiences for upper elementary and middle school students.
